I mean I'm not powerlifting and I'm going to take it easy when I get back next week but I'm not babying myself. I am under a "don't lift more than ten lbs" guideline until Wednesday but I'll be honest I haven't followed that since last week Thursday. I figure it will fade and I can get some cool ink. usually the scar is lower and under the underwear line but I wanted the most skin off which is how I ended up with sort of a belt scar. He did end up cutting/leaving a scar higher than he usually does but my priorities weren't there. I'd had my doctor check me over at a previous appt and she felt I didn't have any muscle separation issues and I didn't have any physical signs of separation (sometimes a big hollow right below the ribs down the center of your belly can be a sign) and so I went to a private plastic surgeon for this quote. I actually ended up at a private plastic surgeon's office. Here are some pictures, and I'm happy to answer any questions!! Pictures are NSFW in that they show my incisions but all naked parts are covered :) Progress pictures I was also very tired but I'm feeling a ton better now 9 days post op, out of the gym at least another five days -back on Wed which will be 13 days post op, longer for Jiu-Jitsu) and also healing. I am still wearing a compression garment and probably will for another 1-5 weeks, I still have stitches in and some.general aches but otherwise doing well. It was done while I was awake, outpatient and I was back to work on day 5. It was a mini tummy tuck in that he did not have to reconstruct my belly button (cutting was below the belly button) and I didn't require drains. The doctor lipo'd about 4 additional lbs of fat and cut off a chunk of skin 24 inches across and 8 inches high except under my belly button was 5 inches. ![]() I was so excited to be able to have an Avelar tummy tuck. It was bunching up during my squats and affecting how my gi fit and wearing compression shorts and shirts under everything was getting old. It looks different for everyone and honestly I was pretty lucky in appearance but the skin on my stomach especially was affecting my workouts. One thing I always battled while losing weight was the increasing amounts of loose skin. ![]() I did not follow any specific diet except calorie counting and the count varied from 1200 at the beginning of my journey to 2000 depending on workouts. ![]() I powerlift three days a week, take Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu two to three days a week and get in around 90 minutes of daily cardio, usually on my elliptical. Wanted to share here in case I could answer any questions or if this info helped someone else!! And of course open to any advice from ladies who came before me!!īriefly, over the last 18 months I have battled back against PTSD, lost about 80 lbs and gotten into the best shape of my life. I shared this on another subreddit but I know as a relatively active person, my biggest concerns about having surgery were not the pain during or after but recovery time.
